Pixlr – your Free online photo editor
Need to edit those photos, but can’t get your hands on a top-notch editing suite like PhotoShop, well Pixlr may be the answer. What’s more there is nothing to install, you can use it anywhere you can get an Internet connection with a Flash enabled browser as it a cloud-based application.
Images can either be started from scratch, uploaded from your computer or from another website when you begin.
Once the starting image has been populated, there are the usual full range of tools, effects and layering you’d expect from a paid-for package.
As Pixlr say themselves, as with all image editing applications, there’s an initial learning curve whilst you get familar with all the features – personally I found their online help and tutorials great to help me get started.
For me this is a really useful tool to know of as you never know quite when or where you’ll need to edit an image. Back at home though, I must confess I’m still a Paint.Net fan (needs to be installed on your local PC and requires .NET v 3.5.1 too).
