Stop and redirect invalid URL requests to your Jobberbase website

In the interest of helping others out there,web log file my Jobberbase website (http://www.industryjobs.co.uk/) has recently been the subject to numerous invalid  URL request.

Presumably these are linked to an exploit / automated script request. Typically, they appear in the web logs as 404 error as either,

  • /post//RK=0/RS={random numbers and letters}

or

  • /post/+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Result:+chosen+nickname+.....

Instapaper has gone free – limited time only

Instapaper, is Instapaper Logoone of my personal favorites and an app that regularly ranks in other top 20 list of iPad and iPhone apps. Christmas must have come early, as it is

now FREE for for the first time since 2010. The app usually costs around £3 in the UK / $4.99 in the US so weel worth a quick download. But, do it quick though as it’s likely to be for a limited period only.

Don’t just take my word for it, this popular read-it-later app is also Apple’s App of the Week right now – clearly demonstrating it is one of the best.

Embedded Twitter Timelines on your Intranet – solution?

If you’ve reached this page you are probably as frustrated as I have been with Twitter’s new API restrictions and the embedded timeline widget restrictions on internal company domain names. Specifically, host names like “intranet” and “mycompany”. From my research, there’s plenty of discussion out there including on Twitter’s Developer Forum, but as far as I can tell no solutions.

The free way to get your iPhone unlocked on a O2 contract

If you are on a contract with O2 you can unlock your phone for FREE at anytime.

My advice is to do this whether you want to stay with O2 long term or not, you’ve got nothing to loose whatever you decide to do.

If you are a Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) customer, you can also unlock for a relatively low cost one off fee of £15 deducted from your credit balance.

This is a much more cost effective and long term solution than jail-breaking your iPhone through a local mobile shop as O2?s unlock process is permanent and a “proper” solution.
